Exciting news!

It was announced on Dec. 2 that PORCH Chapel Hill-Carrboro, along with nine other organizations, received a GSK IMPACT Award for building a healthier Triangle region. We are so proud and thankful! The award comes with $50,000 to support our mission dedicated to improving health outcomes. These funds are unrestricted, meaning the recipients may use the money for any purpose furthering their work.

This is the 25th anniversary of the inception of the US-based IMPACT Awards. To date, GSK has awarded over $13 million in unrestricted funding to local nonprofits across the two regions that are home to its US corporate hubs.

As our own Debbie Horwitz said during the awards: “We will put these funds to good use to grow our programs, expand and improve our partnerships to increase access to needed services, develop a staff with an eye toward longterm sustainability, and enrich our advocacy arm to address the systemic problems that lead to poverty and food insecurity. In short, we will be able to make a greater impact during this critical time of increased need as we recover from the pandemic.”

Updated on 12/03/21: Our thanks to WCHL and Chapelboro for their coverage of our GSK IMPACT Award.
