Diversity

While we have a lot to learn, PORCH strives to live our values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are committed to working alongside and lifting the voices of people who are hungry and food insecure, building a staff, board, and volunteer base that represents the diversity in the communities we serve and grounding our work in a foundation of social justice that will ultimately create systemic change.

Fresh & Nutritious Food

Healthy food has become too expensive or inaccessible for a growing number of families, leaving high-calorie and low-nutrition foods as the only options. Without fresh food, people are more likely to suffer from diabetes, obesity, cancer, and other chronic conditions, as well as from the stress and anxiety of not knowing how they will feed their families. The nutritious food provided by PORCH – 600,000+ pounds of it in 2023 – gives them a small portion of what their families really need.
