Food for Families

Families Need Healthy Food!

PORCH helps families with children in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Schools get the fresh and healthy foods their children deserve! Each month, Food for Families sorts and delivers bags of fresh produce, milk, eggs, chicken, and non-perishable food to approximately 500 families. Food for Families provides a unique variety and quantity of fresh foods (e.g. potatoes, green beans, apples, broccoli, zucchini, sweet potatoes, onions, peppers, chicken, eggs, milk and more). Three bags of fresh food, along with one bag of non-perishables, are distributed monthly, providing supplemental food that can make the difference between a healthy meal and no meal at all. If you would like to participate in the program, just ask your child’s school school social worker for more information!
